Dr. Shaun Glaze (they/them) is a visionary leader in research, consulting, and grant writing, serving as the Research Director at Black Brilliance Research (BBR) and the Chief Consulting Officer at Inclusive Data (ID). With a focus on fostering inclusive spaces and empowering under-resourced communities, Shaun’s work spans across multiple sectors, from digital equity and community organizing to securing transformative funding for social justice initiatives. At Black Brilliance Research, Shaun leads groundbreaking projects that center community voices in participatory action research, public interest technology, and workforce development. Inspired by the Detroit Community Technology Project, BBR equips communities with the tools to build their own internet infrastructure, organize locally, and shape digital futures.As a distinguished grant writer, Shaun spearheads efforts at Inclusive Data, winning over $3 million in grants per month from major institutions like the National Science Foundation, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, and the Washington State Department of Commerce. Shaun’s expertise in navigating complex grant processes—from brief applications to comprehensive packages exceeding 500 pages—has unlocked significant resources for under-funded communities.Shaun holds a PhD from Boston College, an MS from UMass Boston, and a BA from The University of Texas at Austin.
